Troy Hornback scores his first BnT win at Lake Nacimiento!

Bass-N-Tubes kicked off the 2011 season in traditional fashion at Lake Nacimiento on February 19th and 20th.
Nacimiento is a spotted bass factory, and despite the stormy conditions that greeted the eighteen anglers that made it out to the inaugural 2011 event, the fish were hungry and the competitors were ready to get the season started.

Day one was wet most of the day and saw most anglers arrive at the scale with limits and sore thumbs. Troy Hornback would take the lead with a 9.30 pound limit of feisty spots. Troy anchored his bag with the day one big fish of 2.42 pounds. Noah Salazar and Rob Linden ended the first day tied for second place with 8.21 pounds of fish each and Mitch Teman wasn't too far behind with 8.04.

Day two dawned to better weather and a tougher bite as most angler had to work harder to get their limits, but the limits were there. Wayne Thomas had the big bag for day 2 with 8.20 pounds topped off by the day 2 big fish of 2.37 pounds caught on a spinner bait.
Troy Hornback mustered up 6.43 pounds for day two and ended with
15.73 pounds for his 2 day total and held on for the victory. Troy reported catching his fish dragging a C-rig deep. Taylor Capilla used a finesse worm on a zappu hook Sunday and added 7.73 pounds to his first day weight for a total of 15.42 pounds and second place. Joe Agrillo finished strong using an Owner minnow with 8.01 pounds of bass on day 2 for a two day weight of 15.05 pounds to take the third and final paying position.
