2011 News

July 9th & 10th , 2011 - Beacon Harbor
It was time for the annual summer two day tourney in the delta. Sixteen anglers came out to Beacon Harbor to camp and fish and just have a good time. The weather was nice, but a little abnormal this weekend, with very mild temperatures and a only slight breeze in the mornings.

Day one started out with the anglers heading out at safe light with high hopes of catching some delta toads. In the end it was Dave Ryle who would bring the only limit of the day to the scale for 10.40 pounds and take the early lead. Rob Linden came in with 7.84 pounds for his best four to grab second place and Mario Ugenti was third at the end of day one with 2 fish for 5.90 pounds. The day one big fish was weighed in by Mitch Teman at 3.72 pounds.

Day two started the same as day one. At the end of the day it would be Rob Linden who would bring in five fish for 8.32 pounds and a two day weight of 15.66 pounds. Rob would move up one position to take the win. Joe Agrillo also had a limit on day two for 7.70 pounds for a total weight of 12.97 pounds and would jump up to a second place finish. Mitch Teman made the leap to third place with three fish on day two for 9.02 pounds for a total weight of 12.74 pounds. The day two and tournament big fish was weighed in by Sal Castro at 3.91 pounds.

Saturday afternoon festivities included a casting contest. This year Coyote Bait and Tackle donated a couple of rods to the top finishers.
Taking home top honors and a nice new rod was Joe Agrillo. Second place was a tie between Dave Monteiro Jr. and Scott Rouhier. Dave and Scott would go to a flip off to decide second place and the winner of another new rod. Scott Rouhier narrowly edged out Dave for second and took home the new fishing rod.
Thanks to Denise and Coyote Bait and Tackle for their generous support of Bass-n-Tubes.

We hope to see everyone in August for the delta sunrise tourney at Middle River.
