Ten anglers showed up to Bass-n-Tubes first tournament of the year at Lake Nacimiento. The weather was warm and the bite was on fire, with 100's of fish caught throughout the weekend.
After day 1 Taylor Capilla had the lead weighing in a 10.14 pound bag of healthy spotted bass. Robert Middleton secured 2nd place with 8.91 pounds for his top five of the day. Jeff Wilson weighed in the big fish of the day with a 3.29 pound spot and rounded out the top 3 after day 1 with 8.16 pounds.
The fishing was very productive day 2 but the bigger fish were hard to come by.
Jeff Wilson ended up with big fish again on day 2 with a 2.40 pounder and locked up a 4th place finish. Scott Rouhier squeaked in to the top 3 weighing in 10 fish in 2 days for 16.34 pounds, Robert Middleton whacked em' on a tube bait again on day 2 and ended up in 2nd with 16.56 pounds . And Mr. Capilla ran away with the win, weighing in the largest weight on both days for a total of 18.77 pounds.
A big thanks to Catch em' Caro baits for donating a custom bait to Jeff Wilson who took the Big Fish of the tournament honors, and his newest bait the J.A Quick (top water) to the winner.
Our next event is on March 18 at Discovery Bay and the bite should be ON FIRE!
We look forward to seeing you all there.
