July 10, 2010 - Delta, Mel Cotton's Delta Open
It was time for the annual "Mel Cotton's Delta Open" at Beacon Harbor, where twenty three kick-boaters, tubers, and yakkers came to play.
It turned out to be a rather tough day for the anglers as the delta largemouths kept their jaws shut tight for the most part.
At the end of the day there were zero limits at the scale but Nate Albers figured out how to catch enough weight for his first win in a kickboat tourney. Nate weighed in three fish for 7.53 pounds and his weight was backed up by the tourney big fish at 4.91 pounds. Nate flipped his big one early and worked a drop shot to get the rest. Congrats Nate on your first BnT victory!
Finishing in second place was Dave Monteiro who brought four fish to the weigh in for a total weight of 7.09 pounds. Dave reported catching his fish flippin a T-rigged worm to shallow tulles.
Third place went to last months winner Joe Agrillo. Joe weighed in a total of 6.67
pounds of Bass for his days work. And securing the final paying position with a total weight of 6.47 pounds was Joe Rivera.
Bass-n-Tubes would like to say thank you to Mel Cotton's and their friendly staff for putting on this great tournament. As always there were some great raffle prizes handed out to the participant's after the weigh-in, which made up for the lousy bite.
Don't forget to stop by their store in San Jose to say thanks and grab a bait or two!
