February 22 & 23, 2014 - Lake Nacimiento
Nineteen anglers ventured to Lake Nacimiento to kick off the 2014 BnT season to just about perfect weather for the entire weekend, which made for a great time on, and off, the water.
At the end of the first day it would be Taylor Capilla with the lead with an 8.57 pound limit. Following close behind in second was local pro Bryan Vogt with 7.80 pounds for his best five, and the day one big fish at 2.74 pounds. Jeff Wilson nailed down third place for day one with five for 6.98 pounds, and rounding out the top four was Steve Lynch with 6.50 pounds of Naci spots!
Saturday evening was off the hook with a Crab feast sponsored by BnT member Scott Rouhier (check his member profile) who supplied enough fresh crab for two clubs. Along with the bread, salad, and cookies brought by everyone els, and a few sausages and tri-tips that were tossed on the grill for good measure, there was enough food for everyone. Even enough for some tri-tip sandwiches for on the water eats Sunday.
Thank's Scott for supplying the food and a great time!
Sunday dawned to blue skies and the anglers got an early start. It was Taylor again, who fished a smallie beaver and pro senko all weekend, that had the bag to beat with five fish for 6.75 pounds, and a two day total of 15.32 pounds to secure the win.
Finishing second for the weekend with a day two limit for 5.97 pounds and a two day total of 13.77 pounds, throwing a wacky rigged senko, was Bryan Vogt. The third and final paying position would go to Jeff Wilson. Jeff found 6.52 pounds of fish for his best five on Sunday to end up with 13.50 pounds for a two day total. Finishing first out of the money with 6.71 pounds on Sunday, anchored by the day 2 big fish at 1.78 pounds was Rob Linden.
Congrats to all the top finishers. It was great meeting some new members, Bill and Scott.
A big thank you goes to Scott Rouhier for providing the feasting.
We hope to see everyone on the water at Salt Spring Velley Reservoir on March 16!
