July 15-16, 2017 - CA Delta, "Dan's Delta Outdoors Open"
The 2017 Delta Open is in the books!
Twenty two anglers met up at 'Dan's Delta Outdoors' in Oakley CA to check in and enjoy a little pre tourney BBQ with burgers, dogs and all the fixins, and a little raffle for some goodies, before the 3pm blast off at Piper Point Marina for the Saturday sundowner.
Sunday had the anglers blast off at 6am for a sunrise day from Sugar Barge Marina
It was a hot weekend and the fishing was hot for some and for some it was just... not as hot!
In the end it was Taylor Capilla who was the man to beat.
Taylor was the lone angler to bring a limit to the scale both days. Taylor finished up his weekend with 20.54 pounds to take the win.
Second place goes to Sal Castro who weighed in a respectable 17 pounds even, for seven fish after two days of fishing.
finishing in third place is Max Krieg. Max came to the scale with 16.51 pounds and seven fish for the weekend.
Max also scored the day one and tournament big fish with a fat 5.29 pound bass.
Taking the final paying spot was Michael Alaga with 15.35 pounds for his best eight.
The day 2 big fish money was awarded to Joey Allen with a nice 3.32 pound delta bass.
Thanks to Dan Mathisen and "Dan's Delta Outdoors" for his support, and thanks to all the anglers who showed up to fish.
